tinyML Talks: Chasing cows: Making Africa smarter with embedded ML

Embedded machine learning has the potential to give sensors a real understanding of the world. Anything from detecting whether a cow is getting sick, knowing whether tomatoes are growing properly, to seeing when an elephant gets too close to a village – all without having a human involved. In this talk Jan Jongboom, the CTO of Edge Impulse will talk about problems he saw while visiting East Africa, how machine learning can help in agriculture and conservation, why power consumption matters, and you’ll learn why he was running after cows on a dairy farm in Tanzania.
